This project involved the extensive renovation of a family home in Vredehoek. The brief was to update the existing house for the requirements of a young growing family, that re-located from England. The main house was re-designed to create an open plan living space, with 3 bedrooms in the main house and a separate private flatlet that could be rented out. The large and light kitchen and scullery has become the centre of the home opening up onto  a courtyard and deck area for entertaining.  The deck was lifted off the lowered back garden to not only include water tanks underneath and provide a more sustainable home but to also benefit from the Mountain views at the same level as the house.
